Nothing Ear (2): Will They Replace my AirPods Pro?
Loving my 8 Pro 512gb, i want this 8a as my side phone lol
Anyone else watching this on their 8a? (Free with a new line). Only got it since the new line I added was for someone who brought their own phone so I snagged this just bc it was free (paid taxes though). It's not bad, just bit laggy for anyone who games (I casually play Pokemon go when I go shopping with my gf) and IG doesn't look as nice as it does on iPhones (some photos and videos just look weird). Besides those things, I like the way it feels and performa....wish it was smaller to be compact
Wish my P8 had that matte finish
In Portugal you can buy for 215€ a plan with vodafone. I m waiting bc it sail out
i can close both eyes on the rest but that chin.... DAMN!! i'm out instantly.
i just got the pixel 8a for free with upgrade coupon and trade in a broken phone which was worth nothing but still got 150 as it was pre order offer. ended up with 80 bucks extra credit which i got paid from the network. So i guess i cant complain lmao
Think just a liiittle bit harder. If the 8 goes on sale, the 8a is very likely going to be as well, making it even cheaper and more appealing as a good value phone.
You didn't watch the whole video I guess lol
Another great video. I just wish you mentioned Canadian pricing.
It's priced similar to Iphome 13 in India, and in same category to 14.. and since Samsung dropped the price for s23 which is now cheaper then pixel 8A. So I don't see much value
I've been thinking about giving Samsung another try with this model as opposed to the S23 or S24 and soon to be released S25 series BUT I still enjoy using my wired headphones and having a Micro SD Card slot. Yes, I still have and use wired headphones. My Motorolas and Redmi Note 12 also have FM Radios and if I wake up too early I like to listen to Bob & Sheri while still in bed.
But I got 8A for 200 USD … so yeah :p
I got mine for $425 AU off the handset price on a 36 month contract. That put it at $475 Australian so about $318 US.
You should have gone with JB hi-fi mate. It's 859 less 300 trade in bonus less giftcard 200 after purchase leaving net cost of 349 AUD.
Very nice, enjoy
Every phone these days is expensive, there truly are no more "budget" phones....or food or cars or houses or anything else in America. As far as a plastic back is concerned!? Glass breaks! Plastic is stronger. They don't use glass in race cars, they use a plastic windshield. Our cars are no longer made of metal.... they're made of plastic so plastic is as you can see not so bad.
I just need something to use for tiktopshop and surf the web etc. Nothing special. As long as its not an Apple. Dont like them. Your recommendation would be great because I know nothing about computers....thanks in advance.
niceeee
This colour looks really good on it, at least in video. Too bad the phone isn’t priced correctly at launch. Cheers Mark!
Just got my pixel 8a. $200 off plus $70 for my trade in. That's under $250, which is great
Where
@@dannof3000 Google store. If you are an existing Google Fi user, or new user, it's $200 off. Verizon gives it for free too I believe
@@dannof3000 probs google fi, if you have any plans with em it's $299 but if you transfer to fi you get the phone for free.
How
@@ninjamitcherz Google Fi store
My biggest issue with the 8a is price. At $499, it ceases to be an affordable a series phone as that’s what the a in 8a stands for. I just feel like $399 would’ve been a more fair price for it and would sell better too. While also continuing the tradition of being a more affordable Pixel.
Every single Pixel went up this year......
This phone is getting a lot of hate. But thats what a budget phone is. Lowered specs to meet a price point.
The design and the blue color though 😍. Why are flagship so dull and midrange so colorful !?
The blue is definitely nice!
Here in Europe we can snatch the 8a for 219€ do you think is a good purchase?
Where? in Germany it cost 549€ 😮
bullshit ...219...
With trade in of my 6a I paid 243£ for the new 8a
@@alldaygrindin2010 thats a diff thing
@@alldaygrindin2010 I am on the same exact situation I have 6a and 8a looks so tempting 😂 is it worth it? Do you feel any advantages?
I just bought the pixel 8a for just 360€ on pre sale.....os this a good deal for you!👌
Great review on the 8a. Does the Pixel 8 have super res zoom? Thank you, Mark.
Not to forget competitors, Oneplus 12r with 8 gen 2 and Nothing phone 2 performs better than tensor G3,,, today...Not sure 7 years from now.🙃
Honestly I think, if this phone was priced around $400-$450 instead of $500 straight, it would have been better. The worst part is the screen bezels. The plastic is honestly fine by me, because it's easier to hold, more durable, more colour options, lighter, and cheaper (because then the price should go down). So I would totally have plastic even on a $500 phone.
Great idea Mark! Let's make sure the pixel 9 is more expensive 👍
Google has demonstrated time and time again that they don’t listen to their customers. But. They’re a marketing company and all they really need is your info.
They screwed us in the UK today they stopped all promos for a while and had the 8 at 200 gbp more. Then early buyers night the 8 an and today they put the 8 at a special 2 day promo 20% off brining it down to 50 more than the 8a. Screwed their best customers again
Is there any network issue... ?
welcome back mark !
Google has done itself no favours by putting their devices on big sales often. Typing this from my Pixel 6 that I bought on a Black Friday sale. a series phones need to be priced lower to differentiate it from the non-a series.
I think they take some hits in terms of product reviews, but Google’s real goal is to convert people onto the Google pixel platform from Samsung and Apple or get them to upgrade from a cheaper Android to their A series. Making profit on every phone was never their plan. They want you using their software and to collect your data.
@@tylersanders2388 Yup, Google definitely doesn't need the money, they just want your data...which is a blessing and a curse. Up until Pixel phones, their commitment could be a little flaky. I say this as someone who had a Nexus 5 and 5X before going to a Pixel 3 and now Pixel 6. While I clearly wouldn't hesitate to buy another Pixel device, I'm in the minority as Google treated phones more or less as an afterthought for a long time.
In Sweden you can (as I did) get the 8a for free by renewing your contract for 24months with no extra cost added. If I wanted the Pixel 8 instead, I had to pay $22 for 24 months extra (so in total a $528 extra)
Google has lost its way
The devices are good. Their pricing structure is off.
@@keithck3720 Big time
@@keithck3720 just in USA I guess, in Sweden the 8A is around $250 cheaper than the Pixel 8
I'm currently still using the OG Pixel 3a and was hoping to upgrade to the 8a, but I'm disappointed with the bezels, the outdated gorilla glass 3 protection and especially the price. At this point I would rather just buy the Pixel 8 once it drops in price again
Rather buy an Iphone or Galaxy s23 for that same price.
Same, I have a 4A which works brilliantly for me. I just wanted to upgrade because ... I just wanted it because this is not turning its back on me. Wish it was 400 USD.
In my area the pixel 8 is around 400 - 450 USD
Which area is that?
Your analysis is really good ...... I always liked your video .... Keep up the good work
Thank you!
If they made it so that it pulls up the filament before changing color instead of cutting it, there would have been Zero poop-shooting right?
I'm happy with my s24
First guy i found out whose shits really works ty man fr 👍🏻👍🏻
My decision is final. I am gonna buy s24. The decision is made after watching this video.
honestly, these reviews do nothing in terms of influencing people's purchase. iphones never win but look at the market share. it's something like 80% for people aged 18-50.
Truth be told the iPhone has the better screen. Only the 8 Pro can compete with the iphones in absolute quality. In price/value, the 8 can overall be the cheaper value product if you get it for $499 on sale. Full price is overcharging on the base 8. $800 for the base iPhone is really pushing it, but it becomes a better value if they include two years of AAA roadside service which is a $300 value and really does come in handy if you lock keys in your car, get a flat or run out of gas. That pulls down the iphone to a real price of $500. And there it can compete better against the base 8. Wthout ltpo the base 8 can not run 120hz without green tinting like an iphone 12. To me, that is not an acceptable final product so you can't use 120Hz on the 8 anyway. Therefore, both the iphone and the pixel run at 60hz. And in these refreshrates, the iphone has better color accuracy. But the pixel has lower eye strain with dimmer peak brightness in dark mode due to differences in apl handling between the two. Now, the Samsung Galaxy s24 is the only $800 device with an ltpo display meaning it can actually run at 120hz without problems. The only one that can --> so that is actually the one to buy if you care about that a lot.
but americans will still buy iphones, because i don't know why.
I like the constrast for videos on the pixel 8 more than the iPhone 15, it feels more natural
Nice nintendo ad.....
Got mine a week ago. Can't stop using it - full of features and is a great companion for work and play. The iPhones are also great - but I just wanted more customisation and a more efficient multitasking experience than I get from iOS.
Watching from my S23FE 💜

Samsung ❤❤
Pixel 8 ftw for me. I liked samsung for a bit but something about stock android is so much more enjoyable than all the crap samsung adds. Samsungs apps are just knockoff iphone apps.
